Astro3DO Study

Interested in learning about your percent body fat, percent lean mass, and bone density?

Participate in the Astro3DO Study aimed at studying ways to measure body composition on long-duration space flights, which will be applicable to cancer cachexia research. This is a novel research study that will lead to the development of new body composition measurement methods for astronauts, as well as applications to cancer cachexia patients and other cancer-related wasting conditions.

Requirements:

  1. Ages 18-60
  2. Participating in an organized athletic sport

Procedures:
Several body composition measurements will be completed for this study, including but not limited to: bone density scans, body shape scans on an inversion table, and body shape measurements.
