Community Engagement

The Cancer Center’s community engagement efforts are guided by the Community Outreach and Engagement Committee (COE) that collaborates with key community stakeholders. The UH Cancer Center’s community partners includes the Hawaiʻi Cancer Consortium (HCC), the Hawaiʻi Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (HCCCP) and its Coalition, and the Guam Cancer Control Program.

The UH Cancer Center’s COE also convenes advisory groups with representatives from underserved communities and advocates in Hawaiʻi and the US Pacific to obtain input on programs designed to reduce the overall burden of cancer in Hawaiʻi and throughout the US Pacific. The advisor groups include the UH Cancer Center’s Community Advisory Board, Native Hawaiian Community Advisory Board, the Micronesian Community Advisory Board, the Friends of the UH Cancer Center, and the Patient Advocacy Council.
