4th Annual Translational Symposium
On Friday, July 27, 2012 the University of Hawaii Cancer Center partnered with The Queen's Medical Center to host the 4th Annual Translational Cancer Medicine Symposium: How Do We Reduce Cancer Risks? Altering Pathways to Obesity and Tobacco Use. The event highlighted reducing cancer risks related to tobacco use and obesity.
Waun Ki Hong, M.D., a Weinman Distinguished Cancer Researcher and the Division Head at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, was the keynote speaker. He was joined by other distinguished cancer researchers who discussed their achievements in the areas of tobacco usage and obesity.
The Weinman Foundation Innovators in Cancer Research Fund was established by Barry and Virginia Weinman to promote translational cancer research and collaboration between the University of Hawaii Cancer Center and members of the Hawaii Cancer Consortium.
