Research Focus

As a clinician I have been supportive of the clinical trials program of the UH Cancer Center. I have served as the Principal Investigator with the NCCTG and ACTION network. Also, I have been a clinical investigator with SWOG. One of my main interests is health disparities. To this end, I have been active with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), AANCART, and ACTION. We developed DVDs about cancer and clinical trials for Filipinos who spoke English as a second language. Finally, we have conducted research into the reasons why Filipinos are the reluctant to participate in clinical trials.
